This is L. Ron Hubard's own account of the matter,
 given by him on 17 October 1995.


We know that there was a whole series
 of decisions of him to be irresponsible,
 starting in 1966.

We know that
 Mary Sue, with her Guardian Office,
 and later Miscavige, with his Religious Technology Center,
 and Miscavige's "friends"
  Marc Yager, Ray Mithoff, Norman Starkey and Richard Reiss,
 WANTED LRH OUT OF A POSITION
 WHERE HE COULD DETECT THEM AND THROW THEM OUT.


They used, very successfully, a weakness of LRH:

 LRH thought that,
  if a Suppressive Person has joined him
  and flows admiration to him, and works for him,
  then he or she can't anymore be a Suppressive Person
   who wants to destroy LRH and LRH's work.

This is about as naive and destructive
 as saying
  that your wife or husband is very sane
  because he or she wanted to, and did marry you.
It can be known, however,
 that maybe one of ten marital bonds [marriages]
 are made solely with the purpose
 of the man or the wife (or exceptionally even both)
 to get close to the other
 because marriage is the easiest position
 from which to destroy the other.

The crime is on both sides:
 One commits the crime of giving his enemy
  the best opportunity to destroy him,
 the other commits the crime
  of being an enemy
  who wants to and proceeds to destroy someone.

Well, Suppressive Persons
 can be VERY good at flowing out admiration at you
 in order to manipulate you.
 As sex is, on the spiritual level,
  mostly concerned with flowing admiration to another,
 the example of mine is well chosen.
And anyone has, at one time or another,
 been manipulated in such a way by a Suppressive Person,
 I would say.


The people mentioned had only ONE goal:
 TO GET LRH OUT OF THE PICTURE,
 IN SUCH A WAY THAT HE WANTED IT HIMSELF
 AND WOULD NOT NOTICE THEIR INTENTIONS.
They succeeded, regrettably.

"In January 1986 I was exterior from my body since months.
 I decided to separate from my body.
 Since years already I could be in or out of my body at will."


[Auditor:] How precisely did you commit suicide in 1986?

"In January 1986 I decided
 that
  'further association with my body
   would hinder me to find out
   "what else was there to know"'.  LFBD

"What I was able to find out so far (until January 1986),
 I had recorded [written down].

"I had put it in the hands of 'trustworthy people'
  - as I thought then,
    or wanted to think then
    or was made to think then -
 'who would "as if it was me" LF
  continue to work on the achievement
  of the goal of a cleared planet,  LF
   and a civilization
   without war,
   without insanity,
   without criminality'.  LFBD LFBD


"I considered I didn't need my body anymore
  - all writing was done -
 I was burning to advance,
  curious to explore new realms,
  curious to taste the state of
   operating COMPLETELY without body.  F LF

"This was ON THE SURFACE.

"And you see already:
  this was my justification.  LF  LFBD's LFBD's



"I had, in January 1986, reached a point
 where I had delegated
  all responsibility,
  all power,
  all hats [jobs],
 and I had done in research what I could do 'with body'
  - that is: still having to come back to attend to the body,
    ever so often,
    a chore [unpleasant but necessary work]
     that became unnecessary,
     I considered, in January 1986.

"I had delegated all responsibility
  for all activity in Scientology
  and regarding the aims of Scientology,  LFBD
 that means,
  I HAD BECOME MORE AND MORE IRRESPONSIBLE
   FOR THE AIMS OF SCIENTOLOGY,
  which, after all,  I  formulated
  and which  I  wanted to achieve.  LFBD


"'There wasn't anything to do further for me on Earth,
  in January 1986', what a lie!  LFBD

"'I got bored, I had nothing anymore to do on Earth'
  - what a lie!

"The truth is: I became irresponsible!

"The peak of irresponsibility was in January 1986.
 I hadn't even brought order into all the OT-materials!
 'Even that' I had delegated!


"I had become, with the years until 1986,
 more and more irresponsible
  for the sanity of the Scientology Organisations,
 choosing Suppressive Persons to run the affairs.

"The peak of my irresponsibility was January 1986.  LFBD


"I had let myself be talked into being 'the Founder'.  LFBD
 'The Founder [of Scientology]'
  who has nothing to do with Church organisation.  LFBD

      [The 'deceased Founder of the Scientology religion',
       as the anti-Scientologist and RTC-lawyer Helena Kobrin
       likes to put it, out of full conviction.

"On the other hand [I thought]
  'Everything that I wanted, would be done for me,
   I had created a crew
    that would execute my intentions for the future
    faithfully.'

"Did I now have a crew or not?

"'Give it over to me,
  I execute your intentions', this was Miscavige [talking to me].


"[I thought] 'I ran out of work.'  LFBD

"Of course I hadn't run out of work,
 but that's how I wanted to see it,
  to have a justification to look for more work 'elsewhere'.

      [In actual fact, LRH just 'blew', like Socrates did,
       and made it look responsible. (Note by Koos)]

"'On Earth everything was done FOR me,
  was running according to my instructions,
  I wasn't needed.'
 These are more justifications."

      [Note by Koos: In fact,
       Scientology was firmly
       into the hands of Anti-Scientologists,
       who used and use Scientology for no other purpose than
       to dominate people and to play a powergame.]


[Koos:] Define the concept
         'delegating responsibility'.

[LRH:] "To give responsibility for a post
  or an activity or the execution of a plan
 OVER to someone who is trustworthy
  to do it in my stead.  LFBD

[Ron continues:]
 "Whereby I consider it responsible of me
   to find someone [who is] trustworthy;
 what is missing is
  the intention to stay responsible
   for the one I delegate responsibility towards,  LFBD
  and to stay responsible for the whole operation."  LF


[Koos:] What is the correct definition
          of delegating responsibility,
         and what is false in the Power-change formula?

[LRH:] "By stating what was missing
 in my definition of delegating responsibility,
 I partly answered the question.

"In other words:
 It is choosing someone or a whole group
  who is willing and able
    to act in my stead, for me, as if it was me,
  who is representing me
    (as I cannot execute 100 different tasks at the same time)
  who is a true delegate only as long
    as he executes my intention
     or refines the intention towards more survival,
    and only that long he has the right
     to have responsibility delegated to him
     and power given to him to fulfill this assignment.  LFBD

"I would keep the senior responsibility
 and watch his execution of the delegated responsibility.

"Delegating responsibility
 would give me 'MORE HELPING HANDS'
 - and not 'LESS WORK'!"  LFBD


[Auditor:] Thank you!
            The question of Koos
            which still remains to be answered is:
            'What is false in the Power-change formula?'

[LRH:] "You can't totally give up responsibility
  for a post once held,
 even if you once brought the post to power
  and wrote everything up
  for a successor to take over
   and to continue, hopefully, the power trend.


"That's actually not the 'power change'
 you, Koos, want to know about.

"- There is the condition of power,
 - there is the giving up or giving over a position
     which is in the condition of power,
 - there is the power change,
     which concerns the one
     who takes over or inherits a post
      which is in a condition of power.

"For this case I found out:
  the one who inherits such a post in a condition of power
  better doesn't change anything his predecessor had done
   that brought his post into a condition of power.


"What is not right
 is, that is,
 - when you give up or [give] over a position of power -
 it is very irresponsible:
  to completely refuse any further responsibility
   for the former post held,
  just 'because you wrote everything down'.


"You can't escape responsibility
  for what you or others did
  while you were in a condition of power or went towards it,
 and you can't escape responsibility for
  what others do with your post after you left it,
   even if you left it in the greatest order
   and all neatly written down
   and with the highest stats ever as a trend over years
   and a successor found.

"YOU CAN'T ESCAPE RESPONSIBILITY.  LFBD

"Well, I tried, but it's not survival!"

[Ron:] "[The] LFBD's [(strong E-meter-reads) are
 on:]
 I DESTROYED MY INTEREST
  IN CREATING A CIVILISATION
   WITHOUT INSANITY,
   WITHOUT WAR AND
   WITHOUT CRIMINALITY.  LFBD

"I had not achieved it yet,
 when I left in January 1986!  LFBD


"I withdrew from owning.  LFBD
 I withdrew from responsibility.  LFBD

"I withdrew from controlling:
 - my own possessions,
 - my own work,
 - Scientology staff,
 - the activities to create a new civilisation.  LF

"I stopped being in charge,  F
  by my own decision.

"I pretended to myself [that] there is nothing wrong with it
  'because I had designated terminals
    for each of the above items who would carry on'.

"I PRETENDED
  [that] I had taken care for
  a continuation and a final achievement
  of the aims of Scientology in future.  LFBD

"In January 1986,
 I withdrew from being in charge
  but wanted to be considered responsible!"



[Auditor:] How precisely did you commit suicide in 1986?

"I was very meticulous [precise, detailed]
 in giving every item of my possessions
 and my activities and my goals to another terminal.  LFBD


"Before, I had said:
  '"The boots in the sky [= big responsibility]"
    I make it mine!'.  LFBD

"In January 1986, I distributed my possessions  LF
  until I had none left.  LFBD
 I put other owners on.

"The lie was [the pretense was]
 that 'Still, by doing so, I took responsibility
       for the "boots in the sky".'  LFBD's

"This was my suicide in January 1986.


"At other times, [in life,]
 I had [always] decided 'I will be responsible for (so and so)',
  that is, for whatever I wanted to be responsible for.


"In January 1986, I took these tags off me,
   (the tags: 'I will be responsible for (so and so)')
 and I put them on others,
  who seemed to be willing to wear them,
 which made me
   'satisfied that I had found so many
    to be responsible for life'.  LFBD


"This gave me the justification to leave,  LF
 and this was my suicide. LFBD


"'I will be responsible for (so and so)'.

"There are many tags to be put [back] on,
  by me, again,
  on many and most various items.
