                   RI-543i  'Dictators'

The Dictator believes he is VERY responsible,
 VERY self-determined, and working for the good of all.


But there is a contradiction in terms.

Even if he would decide the very best for people,
 he would still be dictating to people what they should do,
  which is not in the best interest of people,
   on a long term basis.


The Dictator says
 "I have now decided what is the best for all to do,
  and that is what is now going to happen,
  and I don't want anybody to tell me something different anymore,
   because I have it all figured out."

And that is the great "Power" of a Dictator
 - "he knows what to do",
    he tells others that THAT is what should be done,
    and he puts out a very certain, very strong intention
     that that will be done and complied with.

That is what people call, and experience,
 as the "greatness" of a Dictator.


And that is why people are willing to be slaves to a Dictator
 - "he knows how to handle,
    he has decided to handle,
     we finally have a course of action
      which he will make sure will be followed by everyone."


When we look a bit closer at this,
 we find that the Dictator is
  compulsively trying to achieve a state of mind or a condition
  where
   "he can make and execute survival decisions
    'without being interfered with',
    or 'without being commanded what to do, by others'."


He desperately tries to 'not be a slave', you see.

He has been made a slave,
 he has been forced to be a slave,
 he has been drugged and hypnotized into being a slave,
  in earlier lifetimes.
 While being a slave,
 he has been executing very non-survival commands.

This must not happen again to him.

So now, he, HIMSELF, decides what is survival,
 and
  "NO ONE IS GOING TO TELL HIM
   TO DO SOMETHING ELSE THAN WHAT HE HAS DECIDED
    IS THE BEST AND THE MOST SURVIVAL".

That is his goal, to 'not be a slave.'


But, by letting no one tell him what should be done,
 he makes others into slaves,
 because
  he does not want to hear of, or take into account,
   what others want from him, or for themselves,
   if it is anything else
    than what HE has decided is survival, and good.

Which requires that others should be slaves
 in order to permit him to be a Dictator.


Which describes the problem:
  'it is good to be a Dictator,
   so as not to be a slave',
 and on the other side
  'it is good to be a slave,
   so as to permit another to not be a slave but a Dictator.'



We can observe this on a small scale in some marriages:

One of the partners
 wants to let the other be a Dictator,
  or one of the partners wants to be a Dictator.
 And they switch this around maybe.


And when the one who is being the Dictator,
 is told by his or her spouse
  that she also has some own wishes and own goals,
 then
  the 'Dictator'-partner accuses his
   now less slavish spouse of
    "undermining his happiness
     and certainty and survival decisions."

Or the other way around,
 when the wife is being the Dictator.


One partner should be a slave,
 in order to allow the other partner
  to 'not be told what to do' and
  to 'not be undermined.'
One partner SHOULD be a slave,
 in order to make the other partner NOT be a slave.
 - They can only imagine
    that one is EITHER a Dictator OR a slave.


Here we have the 'obedient wife'
 who takes an attitude of a slave
  'in order to make her husband happy,
   and allow him to be "very responsible",
   and "determine everything",
   and allow him to "be causative".'

But as soon as the husband tries to make HIS WIFE
 happy and self-determined,
  SHE turns into a Dictator!

Before, she was a totally irresponsible slave
  'allowing her husband to be happy and responsible',
 but
  now she demands her husband to be a slave,
   because she now HAS to make all decisions herself,
   and she must not let her husband tell her what to do,
    in order that she now remains "self-determined",
     and "causative", and "happy".

"She has all the time been willing to be a slave
  'in order to make her husband happy and responsible',
 and now HE should also allow HER
  to be 'happy and responsible', for a change!"

"He should not tell her in anyway what to do,
  because NOW 'SHE knows what is best for HIM'."
 If he would suggest or tell her anything that she should do,
  she would lose her certainty
   and flip back into 'being a slave.'



So the one thing you are not supposed to do to a Dictator,
 is to tell him what to do.


Both Napoleon Bonaparte, and Adolf Hitler,
 were notorious for flatly and completely refusing
  to be told what to do,
   no matter how survival it was
    what they were told to do,
 and
  they would go into a psychotic break
   if you would tell them to do something
    that they themselves had not already decided should be done.


This is mistaken for a sign of great strength and willpower.

What a wrong idea of willpower!

They were desperately trying
  to 'not be overwhelmed by others'
 and therefore
  they were refusing to consider any suggestions
   which would criticize their course of action.

That is not a sign of great strength and willpower,
 it is a sign of
  compulsive 'willpower'
   wholly determined by the imaginary threat
   that "Everybody wants to enslave me."



For example:

"If we DESTROY the Russians,
 THEY will be our friends again", Napoleon said.

"If we DESTROY the Russians,
 THEY will be free of communism again", Hitler said.

Such statements, I would say, are open to criticism.
 There are much better ways
  to make friends and to make people prosper,
  than by killing them all!

Dead people are not very good friends,
 and slaves are not very valuable, and are very unreliable friends.


But the Dictator says,
 "I have decided it so,
  and that is what we are going to do,
  and you are not going to tell me anything else."



In order to achieve and maintain
 his state of certainty and 'survival' determination,
 the Dictator demands others to be slaves.

And so he can only imagine two states
 - one is either a Dictator,
    who knows and determines
    'what is good for people',
 or,
 - one is a slave,
    who lets it be determined by another
    what is good for himself and for others.
