Summary
Rules must be used towards survival only.
Suppressive Persons use the existing agreement with rules,
in order to suppress life only.
Demand that rules are used towards survival only,
and you defeat the tool of Suppressive Persons to hinder life
by their demand that rules are followed to suppress life.
This way of defeating suppression is a sure way
to handle crime in the society,
and to free up an enormous amount of desire to live.

The purpose of life is
to survive as well as it can, in all aspects of life.
That's the purpose of life.
Let's say, you are living in a small tribe of people,
living from some agriculture and cattle-breeding.
You can easily see that its purpose is
to survive,
to make the activity survive,
to make the people survive.
Its purpose is obviously NOT
to destroy the crop and the cattle
and
its purpose is obviously NOT
to kill a part of or the whole tribe.
Now, IN ORDER TO MAKE THE TRIBE SURVIVE BETTER,
SOME RULES ARE MADE AND AGREED UPON.
I would like you to consider this very carefully:
In order to increase the survival of the group
more rapidly and more pleasantly, and
so that it becomes more joyful to live in the tribe,
some rules are made and agreed upon.
IT IS NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND:
"Some rules are made and agreed upon,
and
THAT will bring about survival of the tribe."
That, MAKING RULES SENIOR TO THE PURPOSE,
is the major insanity of any society that I know of.

And this, making rules more important than people's desire to live,
is so much opposed to the desire to live,
that
it is constantly being used as the basic plot or story-line
for very many famous books and movies.
Their whole plot can be expressed
in the few paragraphs I wrote just above,
and
I hope that my lines are more efficient
than these thousands of books and movies
which have as their theme:
"Survival achieved - despite rules being applied suppressively"
(which requires some kind of courage, and maybe some heroes,
to bring about that survival).
That's the plot of all these books and movies,
and it makes very good story material.
All right,
now the clue, that what they don't tell you, comes:
Suppressives Persons DON'T like survival, and
they DON'T like others being aware,
because they think that
"anything that is very alive and very aware
is a threat to their survival".
Suppressive Persons are, of course, not very successful
in demanding DIRECTLY of people
that they must not be lively and aware,
but
they ARE successful in suppressing people
by DEMANDING OF THEM TO FOLLOW AGREED UPON RULES
- which were agreed upon by people, naturally,
on the condition that these rules
would be used of course
only to bring about more survival,
and not to suppress survival.
Again:
Suppressives can't easily just demand of people
to be less lively and less aware.
They CAN,
AND DO demand
that people "follow rules",
as an INDIRECT way
of making people less alive and less aware.
Rules are being used
to suppress aliveness,
and
to dominate people
into irresponsible robotism,
and
into not being allowed to ask or find out
about others or
about the activities planned for them by superiors.
Rules are being used
to suppress children, school-children, very heavily,
to give you an example.
The first two things they are taught are:
"You are not allowed to"
and
"You must."
This is the only easily recognizable tool I know of,
that Suppressive Persons use with considerable success.
But the purpose of the agreed upon rules, ALL agreed upon rules,
was
to make people
MORE ALIVE,
MORE ABLE,
MORE PROSPEROUS,
GETTING ALONG BETTER.
Therefore I want
that all rules, regulations, laws, verdicts, decrees, orders, etc.
are having an accompanying statement
of the PURPOSE of the rule,
and a statement that those rules
should be followed ONLY towards their intended purpose.
That purpose should actually be described in
the Constitution of the country, and it usually is.
But, in order to be practical and workable,
that general statement of purposes
called the Constitution,
is far, far too far removed from real-life situations,
situations where rules, laws, regulations, verdicts or orders
are enforced or given.
Now,
STATING, TOGETHER WITH THE RULE,
THE PURPOSE FOR THE RULE,
(not as a number of a paragraph of law, but spelled out in words),
IMMEDIATELY ESTABLISHES UNDERSTANDING AND AGREEMENT.
Stating further, together with the rule,
that THE RULE MUST BE APPLIED
ONLY TOWARDS ITS STATED PURPOSE,
is defeating Suppressive Persons.
A Suppressive Person must hide or camouflage
his purpose to suppress life,
in order to have any lasting effect.
And
he USES the agreed upon rules or social conventions
in order to hinder survival, and
he WANTS to have the rules used
in order to hinder life,
because
he considers that "anything that is lively and aware,
is a threat to his own survival".
Now, we want to use that knowledge
in order to create a society
which it is a pleasure to live in.
Stating and demanding
that THE PURPOSE SHOULD BE FOLLOWED WITH THE HELP OF THE RULE,
(rather than following the rule without looking at its purpose),
is probably seventy-five percent effective
in avoiding suppression of life, and
in nullifying the efforts of Suppressive Persons
(persons who want to diminish
life, liveliness and awareness),
who otherwise would be allowed
to act unhindered in the present society.
And you see, there is a cumulative, a snowball effect.
That action
frees up so much PURPOSE TO LIVE
of people who otherwise would not dare to be more alive,
that
this effectiveness
(of three quarters of all suppression avoided and nullified)
is actually reached.
And I can tell you
that a society
which has three quarters of its suppression eliminated,
then has also three quarters LESS CRIME,
and has also three quarters LESS INSANITY,
and has also three quarters LESS DRUG-ADDICTION,
and has also three quarters LESS POVERTY.
Crime, insanity, drug addiction, poverty,
dictatorships and illiteracy
- these things don't just happen by themselves, you know.
Each and all of these conditions
are INTENDED by persons who want to suppress life.
You do the following things:
1. When someone asks you to apply
a rule, law, verdict, regulation, etc.
you ask what the purpose of the rule is
(and demand as truthful an answer as you can get).
2. When you tell someone else to comply with a rule, etc.
you tell him as truthfully as you can,
what the purpose for the rule is.
3. When you give an order, pass a verdict,
post a sign, write an article,
or formulate rules, laws, regulations, etc.,
you make sure that the purposes for those rules
are written somewhere near those rules.
4. You demand that others are stating and writing
the purpose for rules and regulations and orders
right next to these rules, regulations, laws, orders, etc.
5. You expose hidden or camouflaged purposes, and
you expose persons who try to enforce rules
for quite different purposes
than these rules are intended for.
If you have ever visited
a courteous civil servant
a courteous company, a courteous organization,
a courteous town, or a courteous State,
you have noticed
that they inform you WHY, for what purpose,
they ask you to comply with some rule or regulation, or order.
The above points do ALSO, and especially, apply
in Armies, in prisons, in police-activities,
in hospitals, in schools, in Courts of Law,
in Parliaments, etc.
Lawyers are the ones
who often try to USE rules
- which were made and agreed upon to help survival -
in order to prevent the survival purpose of justice, and
in order to corrupt the survival concept of fair exchange,
in the false belief
that they would "serve" their client
by using rules and laws in opposition to
what these rules were intended for and
why these rules were agreed upon.
These lawyers have a common practice of
destroying the survival of their clients, and of
destroying the justice system,
by denying or distorting or keeping hidden
the crimes actually committed.
Now, I don't want to discourage you
by telling you the terrible truth about lawyers.
Laws and Court-rules have basic survival purposes, you know,
- don't let lawyers, or judges gone bad, make you forget that!
One can not completely eliminate [get rid of all] suppression,
but
I am sure that handling three quarters of it
makes a society
that you can be very very proud of, and
that you can be very happy to live in.
When we have handled those three quarters of suppression,
- by demanding that the PURPOSE of rules
are stated and followed, and
by refusing (and demanding that others refuse)
to apply rules against their purpose -
we will be much better equipped
to combat the remaining one quarter of suppression.
The remaining one quarter of suppression
lies in the field of
camouflaged and pretended purposes,
which I will deal with elsewhere.
But you can start with
handling the three quarters I described above,
and
create a society you can live in
with happiness and with prosperity for all,
while being aware that Suppressive Persons
don't WANT happiness and prosperity.
Most of us,
not necessarily the loudest amongst us,
not the loudest shouters like Adolf Hitler,
but most of us
DO want to live in happiness and truth
and harmony with each other, while being lively and aware.
