RI-810i 'Correct Unemployment Remedy'
from Ambassador for Mankind
Message # RI-810i for Internet
More work done (by people who are lucky enough to HAVE work)
= More activity = More money earned
= More investments in new activities
= More money spent = More employment created.
Telling people
to STOP working earlier or at an earlier age,
telling people - who want to work extra hours -
NOT to work more hours,
creates LESS work,
which creates MORE unemployment.
It also creates less money
which then has to pay for more expenses,
like unemployment insurances,
health insurances and pensions.
More work done = More activity = More money earned
= More investments in new activities
= More money spent = More employment created.
In order to start creating more work, and thereby less unemployment,
Helmut Kohl, the Chancellor of Germany,
was right with his recent [announced on 13 March 1997]
multi-billion dollar investment program
for development programs in Germany.
Let that not be spoiled
by the continuous Trade Union demands of
"less work, less work, less work
'so that there is more work left for others'."
People should have a decent amount of work
so that they also have time enough free
to follow their other interests and other responsibilities.
But the economy runs on activities that are paid for -
people have to have the money
to pay those people who sell the many activities
that can be undertaken in one's free time.
The more money people earn,
the more money they can spend on activities
for which others are then employed.
More work = more activity created
= more people needed for those activities
and more money to employ them
= more jobs created = less unemployment.
Many people who are self-employed
or who are entrepreneurs [who run a company or shop]
usually work day and night
and they could need a lot more help in their activities:
Which they would get
IF it would be easier for them to employ people.
Their activity would increase further.
Which again would enable them to employ more people,
IF it would be easy enough for them to employ more people.
So another factor is:
How easy is it to employ people.
But the main point is:
More work done by people who are lucky enough to HAVE work
= More activity = More money earned
= More investments in new activities
= More money spent = More employment created.
