'This is the main confusion
  of ALL esoteric disciplines and practices:
    NOT to differentiate
     between
      the spirit or soul that is YOU,
     and
      the body's life-field.'

An E-meter simply measures
 the normal electrical resistance of the body,
  as determined by the body's
   life-field
    which builds and animates the body (keeps it alive).


The way an E-meter measures that resistance, is
  by holding two large metal cans, or pieces of metal pipe,
   in each hand.

This is the best-proven way, up to current research,
 to measure significant, sudden changes in this resistance.

The overall resistance
  lies in the area of about 1 kiloOhm to 1000 kiloOhm,
   averaging around the value of 10 kiloOhm,
     (best measured on a scale that increases
       more or less exponentially or logarithmically),
    when measured as described above,
 and
  is determined by the body's life-field.


It fluctuates with the time of day or night
 in relation to the usual period of sleep for the body.
   Whether the body is well fed and has drunk enough fluid,
   whether it has diseases, etc.
    - all these things determine how high
       the overall electrical resistance of the body is
        as determined by the body's life-field.

During its normal sleeping-period,
 the resistance usually gets up to 200 kiloOhm or above.

After breakfast
 you probably see it at around 10 kiloOhm
  if there is a relaxed state of mind on your part,
    you - the owner of the body,
    you - the one who is to a greater or lesser extent in charge
     of the body's life-field and of the body.






What is this life-field of the body?


- It is that life-field alongside which
   acupuncture places its needles
    in order to try and cure
     misalignments of the body's life-field.


- It is that life-field
   that you see on Kirlian-photos
     (high-frequency electrical-field photography)
    of fingers, hands or plant-leaves.
  What you see on these photos
   corresponds with the points used by acupuncture.


- It is that life-field
   that determines fertility-periods of the body and
   that makes certain biological reactions and behavior of the body,
      of animals, fishes or insects also,
      even of trees and other plants,
    be triggered or increased
     according to the position of the sun or the moon.


- It is that life-field
   that is slightly different for a female or male body,
    is more Yin or more Yang (the old Chinese terms
     for these aspects of this life-field),
   that is different for left or right side of the body,
   that has a polarity.


- It is that life-field
   that identical twins (two bodies developed from one egg)
    have in common as one life-field,
     making them have a biological telepathic connection,
     making them sometimes have diseases or pain simultaneously,
     making them have a transmission-line for
      each other's personal emotional reactions to life
       (they can easily experience
         sudden emotional occurrences in the other).


- It is that life-field
   that people make use of
    who are expert in dowsing or divining
      (like for finding water or metal ore
        or detecting and examining energies similar to
         or the same as their life-field energy)
      by experiencing the changes in their body's reactions
       (like suddenly doubled heartbeat)
     or
      with a divining- or dowsing-rod or -pendulum
       to show changes in the life-field.
   They also make use of it
    for low-level telepathic connections.


- It is that life-field
   that is called or talked about
    by various names such as
     Chakras, Od, Orgon, Elan Vital
   and in various subjects such as
     Yoga, Acupuncture, Reiki, Mesmerism,
      Autogenic training, Karate, and so on.


- It is that life-field that is NOT you,
   you the spirit or soul who is more or less
    in charge of the body's life-field and of the body.






This is the main confusion
 of ALL esoteric disciplines and practices:
   NOT to differentiate
    between
     the spirit or soul that is YOU,
    and
     the body's life-field.

These are NOT the same things!



With the E-meter,
 one tries to measure sudden and tiny changes
  in the body's electrical resistance
   by the arrangement described above for measuring, and
 one tries to measure the reactions
  that you, the spirit or soul that is you,
   create on the body's life-field
    which in turn creates an effect
     on the body and on its electrical resistance.

You, by your thoughts,
 create reactions on the body's life-field
  and one is interested in detecting these with the E-meter,
   when one wants to examine thought, and the effect of thought on life.

But one can also pinch the body and
 the body's life-field registers the pain, and
  you recall the moment of the pain, and
  the body's life-field
   produces a reaction on the E-meter,
    a sudden change of electrical resistance
     the moment you think of the earlier pinch.

This all is of course a very fruitful field of research for medicine,
 and I am very sorry that
  this is not being used in that field:
    'Cancer-research' without this subject
      is just a very bad, very ugly joke
       to make people continue suffering, and
       to make those people who give
         money of charity to current cancer-research,
        into unwilling supporters of such ugly jokes on people.


But the main point I am making
 is that
  the life-field is DIFFERENT from
    you,
    the spirit
     who is affected by it
     but who can influence it,
      as any accomplished Yogi can show you most convincingly.
